The afflictions awaken cancer!

Cancer is a word derived from the Latin  CANCRUM which means  crab. The matching of cancer with the crab, made by the doctors of the Antiquity, is based on the appearance  that certain advanced cancers present,  a central mass with roots or legs all around it, giving us  the impression  that the severe  pains are similar to the bites caused by the  violent grabs of the clamps of the crab.

The crab is an ugly animal. We have to be very careful when we want to handle a crab, because it walks forwardly, backwards and also side ways. Unfortunately the same thing happens with the cancer. It also grows forwardly, backwards and sideways…

They are in the world about four thousand and five hundred different species crabs. On the other hand, we humans can have 220 different types of cancers, which is the number of differentiated cells that the human body possesses.  

In the United States of America,  heart attacks continue to be the cause mortality number one and in number two is variety of cancers. This year more than one million Americans will be diagnosed with cancer and about 50 per cent will die of such terrible illness.

Causes of cancer
What is the cause of  cancer? The main cause of cancer  is the REPETITION,  repetition  of the cancerigenous agent!

The ultraviolet rays of the sun cause cancer of the skin, because the person exposes himself repeatedly to the sun, allowing the repetition  of the effect of the ultraviolet rays.

The x-ray technicians contract cancer of the skin or of the blood when they exposed themselves to repeated times of  the harmful effects  of rays X.

The laborers who deal with dyes  of aniline, asbestoses, products of coal, cleaning   chimneys, all run the risk of  contracting cancer due to the exposure  the repetitions  of the respective cancerigenous  agents. 

It has been demonstrated scientifically  that  cigarettes cause cancer of the mouth, the larynx and the lung.  But most important it has been  noticed that there is a  direct relationship  between the number of the cigarettes that a person smokes per day,  and the increase of the probabilities to become a  victim of cancer.

To smoke three cigarettes per day, as it was customary long ago, or to smoke thirty cigarettes per day, as it is done nowadays, there is  a great difference. So great that it is equivalent to the difference between the life and the death. Smoking is therefore the best example: the more a person repeats the cancerigenous agent, in this case being  the tobacco, the higher the changes of getting cancer!  Against facts there are no arguments!

We know that certain types of cancer are hereditary, but contrary to the general belief, these cases are relative small.

Equally researchers have demonstrated that virus can cause certain cancers (Burkit Lymphoma).   We must notice the meaning of the  word virus. It is a  Latin word that means  poison. Therefore, we do not need to be a  scientists to conclude that if virus  is poison, its repetition  alone can  cause  malignant  effects…

There is general consensus that repetition of the  physical and chemical harmful agents can cause cancer. But, recently, it has been verified that the repetitions  of the negative mental stressful situations can also cause cancer! The repetition of stressful situations, afflictions, can also  awake cancer!  Dripping  water on  hard rock, in due time perforates the rock! This is a proverb that contains much scientific truth!

Practically all the defenses of our body - against the infections and cancer --  are concentrated in our blood. One abscess, with its whitish-yellow substance, called pus,  is composed of   white globules which died heroically in the battlefield to prevent  the infection  from spread thru all  the body.

For  us to better understand the mechanism how the various blood cells act in the defense of infections and of cancers,  we need to make a comparison of how  the automobiles circulate in the highways.

In our blood there are  two types  of cells: (1) the red globules, that have  the only function to carry the oxygen to all the cells of our body;  (2) the white blood cells  that have the exclusive function  of defending our body from infections, allergies and cancers.  The white blood cells in our body stream are like the “police cars” checking for all the bad drivers. 

Lymphocytes 
In the group of the white cells there are  five different models. However the model  that concerns us now  is the one called LYMPHOCYTE, because  the lymphocytes  are the cells that  defend us  against cancer.  The  lymphocytes are the “police cars” that circulate in the blood  hunting for  the cancerous cells, to destroy them, like  the ”police  cars”  in the highways catch  the drunk drivers  and those who exceed the speed limit...

But for the lymphocytes  to be able to exert the functions of  “police cars” they need to be painted,  marked, with special features  to be able to recognize and to destroy the cancerous cells. But where in our body is the “garage” to give that special paint to the “police cars” so they can defend us against cancer?

The “garage” where the lymphocytes are painted  with the emblem of the “police car”, is  called  the THYMUS GLAND. And where is the thymus? In the middle  of the chest, above of the heart, between the lungs and has the dimensions of one  regular biscuit. This is the reason why these lymphocytes are called lymphocytes-T derived from  Thymus.

If  we already know where the lymphocytes-T are painted with the police emblem,  we can ask now where are  they are manufactured?  In the United States we have different types of automobiles and they  are  manufactured in Detroit, State of Michigan.

In our body the plants where our blood cells are manufactured are inside of  the bone marrow. All blood cells are produced there including the regular  lymphocytes. Now  the only thing we need to know is  how are the number  the lymphocytes-T   controlled circulating in the blood?

The number of circulating lymphocytes-T  is regulated by the hormonas secreted by the adrenal glands, which are located above both kidneys.  Each adrenal gland has the shape of a regular plum. The inner core or pit produces adrenalin  which accelerates the heart rate and causes our skin to become goose and prepares us for fight or for flight. The external part of the adrenal glands or cortex  (the pulp of the plum) produces several hormones,  including CORTISONE. Stress and afflictions  increase the production of cortisone!

But the increase of Cortisone  reduces  the number of circulating lymphocytes-T.   Therefore repetition of STRESS or AFFLICTIONS  forces the adrenal glands to work more,  producing more cortisone, resulting in a decrease of lymphocytes-T,  necessary for our defenses against cancer cells. This way our highways in our blood, have a  less number of “police cars”, allowing  the cancer cells to have more freedom  and increase their  number  and  we eventually run a higher risk of suffering  a mortal accident…

The body of a normal adult  man possesses one hundred trillion cells. But in this incredible number of cells , there are 220 differentiated types of cells. Each one can change into a cancer cell therefore each one of us can have 220 different types of cancer!

Strangely as it may seem, each NORMAL person has everyday one thousand cancer cells circulating in the blood stream.  Also normally we do not develop cancer,  because – like a miracle -- our lymphocytes-T, our “police cars”,  kill the cancer cells that are traveling in our blood stream. These lymphocytes-T are indeed marvelous cells. God bless them! 

The Portuguese Americans  immigrants  go through a much higher degree of stress and affliction,  adjusting  and succeeding in  the American way of life and therefore their adrenal glands  have to work at a higher gear, and produce more adrenalin and more cortisone. Therefore our immigrants are more susceptible to an increase of cancer cells.

So my final recommendation to our immigrants is: take it easy! Control your nerves! Control your stress! Avoid the negative aspects of life. Concentrate on the positive, and happy aspects of life.

Avoid situations of repeat afflictions 
because they awake and cause cancerous situations!
