Mr. Álvaro Pinho da Costa Leite, the Patron of the entire complex Library Museum, decide to transform the hayloft into a suite or apartment. The suite building is contiguous to the house where I was born and is located on the western part. This edifice functioned for many years as a hayloft to keep the straw and hay for the animals. Its walls are thick and made out of stone and the building has two floors.

The lower floor has a dining room, with a wood stove to warm the house, kitchen with a refrigerator, hot and cold water, a stainless steel sink, washing machine, and an electric stove.

To go upstairs we use a spiral staircase. On the upper floor we find a bedroom, with a king size bed, chest drawers, two nightstands, sofas and three windows. It has a modern bathroom with hot and cold water, lavatory, shower, toilet and bidet.

The telephone can be connected anywhere where there is an electric socket. From the large window facing south we can see the patio and the main front of the Library. From the landing on the second floor, we can see the enormous panorama of the valley as far as the Atlantic Ocean! From here the sunsets are indeed spectacular!

The suite is for my wife Sílvia and myself to use when we go to Portugal, and certainly it will be used in the future by the Director of the Library-Museum. All the visitors, especially the ladies, fall in love with the modern conveniences of this suite. It is gorgeous for a honey moon!

A adaptação do palheiro para um suite ou apartamento foi ideia do Sr. Álvaro Pinho da Costa Leite, Patrono de todo o complexo da Biblioteca -Museu. O Suite é o edifício contíguo à casa onde eu nasci e fica na parte ocidental. Funcionou durante muitos anos como palheiro para guardar o pasto para o gado. Tem paredes muito espessas de pedra e possue dois andares.

O primeiro andar tem uma sala grande que serve de sala de jantar e de visitas, cozinha com frigorífico, água quente e fria, banca de ácido inoxidável, máquina de lavar a roupa e fogão eléctrico. Na sala há um fogão a lenha para aquecer os andares inferior e superior. Sobe-se para o andar superior por uma escada em espiral. A parte de cima tem o quarto de dormir, com cama para casal, cómodas, mesas de cabeceira, sofás e três janelas. Possui também um quarto de banho moderno com água quente, lavatório, chuveiro, retrete e bidé.

O telefone pode-se ligar em todos as divisões por meio das tomadas eléctricas. Da janela virada para o sul podemos ver o pátio e a frente principal biblioteca. Do patamar da porta superior vemos o panorama enorme do vale incluindo até ao mar! Daqui o pôr de sol é deveras espectacular!

O Suite é para eu e minha mulher usarmos quando vamos a Portugal e certamente no futuro será para ser usado pelo Director da Biblioteca Museu. Todos os visitantes, especialmente as senhoras, ficam encantadas com as conveniências do Suite. Excelente para uma lua de mel!
