Get your flags straight!

Here are the pages of "The Providence Journal" with the Portuguese and Spanish flags mixed up.
Another thing that amazes me is the fact that are so many Portuguese Americans in this region and NOBODY has the guts to blast the Providence Journal for their unfriendly attitude against Portugal and the Portuguese! It is amazing. No wonder they continue to abuse us!
Here is the letter I sent to the paper:
Dear Editor:
Once again “The Providence Journal “ has confused Portugal with Spain. In the article “45 losers, one winner “ - PJ October 4, 2011, - the Portuguese flag was labeled Spain’s, and the Spain’s flag was labeled Portugal’s . For many years here in USA the general public and even some learned people got into the habit of calling Portugal a Province of Spain.
Portugal became independent in 1139 and Spain attained her independence, as we know it today, 353 years later!
Even today NONE of the Anglo-Saxon Encyclopedias do NOT give any information about the Portuguese National Symbols including the Cross of the Order of Christ which was displayed on all the sails of the Portuguese caravels which discovered the entire world during the XV century! Why such a bias against Portugal?!
Respectfully,
Manuel Luciano da Silva, M.D.
