Miguel Corte Real Plaza

In my speech at the banquet of the Holy Ghost Feast of New England, I stated that I already asked the Holy  Ghost to perform a miracle and name the new bridge between Fall River  and Somerset "Miguel Corte Real Bridge",  because he was the first European to come up the Taunton River, in 1502, and  he was also the first Azorian to come to Fall River.

Mr. Manuel Estrela,  a staff writer for  the Portuguese Journal --'' O Jornal''--  from Fall River, sent  me this  photo that  he took in Angra do Heroismo,  in his recent trip to  the Island of Terceira.

Here it is with my thanks to Mr. Estrela.

Please note the "U" of Miguel, is  written like a "V", the way it was written five centuries ago and the way it appears engraved on the face of the Dighton Rock.

In the city of Angra do Heroismo,

Capital of the Island of Terceira, Azores
