The Organization “The Friends of Dighton Rock Museum Inc.”, in cooperation with the  Park Officials,  has  been presenting  special guests with historical programs,  on the second Sundays of the month, starting at 1PM until 3 PM.

As President of “The Friends”  my turn came up, on Sunday June 13, 2010, and I chose the topic “Portugal  Day”. For that I used the 8 panels which I displayed in the Mezzanine  of the City Hall  in Boston  in  July 1976, during the Bicentennial Celebrations  of the United States of America.

These  8 panels synthesize  the analysis  of the Portuguese  inscriptions. I explained each panel in about two  minutes each,  so we  could have  as much time as possible for questions. We  had 88 people  attending inside of the Museum and most were Americans.

The period of questions and answers was fascinating, because this way I could explain in more detail the history of the  Dighton Rock. Everyone  had fun and me too!

Here are some photos of that event and also the panels for you to concentrate on their contents. Enjoy them! I hope this will stimulate you and your  family to visit the Dighton Rock Museum.
