On a pure white field the great circle of 50 stars representing the 50 American States forms the Strength that binds together the two Countries. This also symbolizes the world and the great discoveries that were made by the Portuguese navigators.  Within the great circle of 50 stars is the coat of arms of Portugal and the United States, all together emblazed with the Order of Christ or rather “The Order of the Cross of Christ”, symbolizing the wisdom and culture of Portugal.  Our past President Architect Albert Costa did this emblem
