Emblem of the Portuguese-American
Federation, Inc
On a pure white field the great circle of 50 stars representing the 50 American States forms the Strength that binds together the two Countries. This also symbolizes the world and the great discoveries that were made by the Portuguese navigators. Within the great circle of 50 stars is the coat of arms of Portugal and the United States, all together emblazed with the Order of Christ or rather The Order of the Cross of Christ, symbolizing the wisdom and culture of Portugal. Our past President Architect Albert Costa did this emblem

of the Portuguese-American Federation, Inc.
We are a charitable,
educational and cultural organization
How to become a member: Portuguese or non-Portuguese speaking people, 18 years old or over, and organizations, who are interested in the aims and purposes of the P. A. F. can apply for membership:
-Individual = $15 per year
-Husband and wife = $20
-Organizational = $20
-Century Club = $100
-Ten years Century Club constitutes Life Membership
-Life Membership = $1000

Who May Apply: Applicants must be sons or daughters, niece-nephews, grandnieces/grandnephews, grand-children, great grandchildren of individual or organizational federation members who have been members in good standing for at least 2 years prior to the date of application.
For members without family and member organizations, one applicant of their choice may apply. Organizational applications must be signed by the President and Secretary of said organization.
Two scholarships are awarded in the amount of $250. These scholarships are intended for current high school seniors who are continuing their education during the academic year following their high school graduation.

How did this book come about? As a result of the TV production dedicated to informing the general public about the Portuguese cuisine. A committee of former moderators was formed.
