The Portuguese Theory is the only true one!

By Manuel Luciano da Silva, Medical Doctor

Professor Edmund Delabarre, the founder of the Experimental Psychology, in 1892,  at Brown University, was a scientist but also a perfectionist. He  spent  too much time with  unnecessary details.  On his book entitled “Dighton Rock” (1928)  he lists  22 theories for the Dighton Rock inscriptions.  Twenty one  of these theories  have  no  epigraphic basis to form  even a  hypothesis.  They are totally ridiculous and based on fraud!

Now let us review the list of the 21 false “hypothesis” compiled and published by Delabarre in his book, “Dighton Rock”,  page 144, (1928):

(1)   The Devil, (2) Jesus Christ, (3) Roman, (4) Phoenicians, (5) Egyptians, (6) Jews 1000 B. C. , (7) Libyans, (8) Persians, (9) Carthagians, (10) Chinese, (11) American Indians, (12) Vikings, (13) Scotch, (14) Pirates, (15) Verrazzano, (16) Siberians, (17) Japanese, (18) Greeks, (19 Welch, (20) Scythians, (21)  Tyrians.

Why the Americans do not understand the meaning of  the expression:

                             ‘It’s the Portuguese, stupid’?

Because even  TODAY,  NONE of the  American and Anglo-Saxon Encyclopedias have ANY information whatsoever about the Portuguese National Coat of Arms, nor about the Portuguese Cross of the Order of Christ!!!  Why such bias against Portugal?

Portuguese Coat of Arms:
 V and U shaped

U shape

V shape - triangle inside of a triangle

The armillary sphere was added to the Portuguese Coat of Arms because the Portuguese were the first  ones to circumnavigated the earth. The seven castles represent the number of castles conquered to the moors in southern part of Portugal. And the escutcheons with five Quinas represent the five wound of Christ.

This is the Cross of the Order of Christ with extremities terminating in 45 degree angles.  Yet the American encyclopedias NEVER had any information about this cross.  In 1924 Professor Delabarre was  awarded the Portuguese Cross of the Order of Christ  by the Portuguese  Government,  and even having this cross on his chest,  he DID NOT discovered  the four crosses engraved on the face of Dighton Rock!!!

Conclusion of  the Portuguese inscriptions engraved  on the face of  Dighton Rock

Flag # 1 – Portuguese Coat of Arms U shape

Flag # 2 – Portuguese Cross of the Order of Christ

Flag # 3 – Portuguese Coast of  Arms V shape

Captain’s  name -- Miguel Corte Real

It  is so easy to make the  correct diagnosis of the  inscriptions  engraved on the face of Dighton Rock, if you know the shape of the Portuguese icons!

Please don't continue to be ‘stupid’  about the Portuguese national symbols. It is so easy to learn them and have fun with them!
