Letter from Representative David Sullivan

From his Assistant,  Mr. Brian Pearson,

I received today this pleasant E-mail

for which I am  most grateful:

Dr. DaSilva,

Representative David Sullivan intended to speak at the State Administration
meeting but unfortunately the House Caucus took place at 11am and then he was
called for an important meeting dealing with budget items.

He did right a letter of support and he would like to forward a copy of the
letter to your home.

If you could provide me with your address I will send it out.

Please find attached a copy of the letter.   Brian Pearson  aide to David
Sullivan

Re: House 1688 (AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE POSITION OF DIRECTOR OF THE DIGHTON ROCK STATE PARK)

Dear Committee on State Administration,

I am writing this letter in support of House Bill 1688 which will fund the position of director for the Dighton Rock State Park.  This position has long been needed.  Dighton Rock is truly one of the great archeological and historical mysteries of Massachusetts.  By having a director on site this person would be able to bring this mystery to life for the visitors to the park.  It would also most assuredly bring in more tourists not only to Dighton Rock State Park, but increase visitors to other sites in Southeastern Massachusetts.

Furthermore this director would be able to introduce school children to history of the area by visiting schools and hosting school field trips.  Just imagine the children learning about the great Portuguese sailors, the local American Natives, the Norsemen and other cultures.  We have an opportunity here to expand the knowledge of the people while at the same time increase the tourist dollars to the Commonwealth.  Please give a favorable report to House Bill 1688.

                           Most respectively,

                       David B. Sullivan

                           State Representative
