The
Charter for Public Utility was approved in Portugal!
The Charter of Public Utility was
approved by the Council of Ministers
of Portugal for the Library-Museum Dr. Manuel Luciano da Silva, with
headquarters
in the village of Cavião, Vale de Cambra, North of Portugal. This official
decision was published on the Portuguese Congressional Record called “Diário da
República” or Daily of the Republic, to become Law.

Declaration No. 47/2005 (II series) -- In
agreement with the decision No. 2 of
article of Law Decree No. 469/77 of November 7, it is made public,
in accordance with legal authority of the Prime Minister No. 3503/2005,
published by “Diário da República”, II series,
no. 34, of February 17th of 2005, the Vice-Minister to the Prime
Minister, by the Decree of February
7th, declares of Public
Utility the Association Dr. Manuel Luciano da Silva, with
headquarters in São Pedro de Castelões, Vale de Cambra.
It is further made public that in
accordance with No. 1 of the article No. 6 of the Law-Decree No. 460/77 of
November 7th that the
declaration
of Public Utility is agreed upon with following recommendations:
To inform of the
existence
of such Library and its documental contents
to all the public and private
institutions to whom its material might
be of interest, namely universities, schools, Book
Institute and all
other the libraries, etc.
Intensify its activities
before the general public and special the youth, and continue to develop
other activities as they are
described in its by laws and
rules of functioning;
To prepare an annual
report of these requirements, and provided
also a report of the monthly average of the visitors to its library, and send
these reports to the General-Secretary, together
with the its annual
financial report.
Based on the limitations
of the same decree, if any of the recommendations
listed are not achieved, the
consequences are described on item (b) of article 13. of Law Decree No. 460/77
of November 7.
