The Launchings of our new
book in Portugal have been sensational!

May 22 , 2006 - We have completed two launchings of our book, out of 8 scheduled. The first two launchings were sensational!  The first one held at the Club Literary of Oporto had a full house and we signed many copies of the book.

The second launching was held last night  (May 23, 2006) at the Public Library in São João  da Madeira, again a full house. In the evening we had supper at the São João  da Madeira  Rotary  Club, again  full house and we signed many copies of the book.  At these places I had  to speak, and everyone was surprised and even amazed  the way I express myself  in Portuguese being way for so many years from Portugal!  We even signed a book for the Duque of Braganza who send a message  and asked for a copy of our book.

At these ceremonies we had a representative of the American Ambassador,  the Mayor of the City, etc. Here in Portugal  there is much protocol.

Tonight we have to go to the largest shopping Center in the City of Matosinhos, near Oporto. Tomorrow morning we will go to Lisbon for 3 days to make other  launchings  at the Sociedade de Geografia de Lisboa, and at the Book Fair of Lisbon--  Feira do Livro em Lisboa.

So far we  have been well and feel very comfortable even though it seems to   be  under much pressure. But we take these as normal events.
