The aerial view of Cavião, the village where I was born, on September 5, 1926. The yellow square is the location where my House and the Museum are located. Click here for additional information. The Library- Museum is situated in the North of Continental Portugal, 60 Kilometers (45 miles) southeast of the City of Porto or Oporto. When I was born, 1926, the population was 93 people. Today is over 150.

On the map at the bottom of this page, on the left, I indicate the location of my village with a red circle.

Cavião is a village within the County of  Vale (Valley)  de  Cambra, which has several villages on the slopes of its mountains,  creating  a beautiful panorama by the  step-like plateaus of the corn and wheat fields, and because of this unique appearance  it has the nickname of  “The Portuguese Switzerland”.
